Memory Lane and Instagram

It feels like weeks since I’ve been at my computer or behind a camera. Life has a way of happening, and the tyranny of the urgent takes over. But I’m back. I’ve spent today behind the camera and tonight in front of the computer, trying to get business caught up. I’ve got bookkeeping to do, template emails to create, organizing lighting set-ups, ordering gear, etc. With all these things to do, I find myself going through old hard drives looking for particular photos. While doing this, I came across a folder called Instagram Back-up.

Apparently, I must have gotten a new phone in Feb, 2014. Before switching over to the new phone, I backed up my photos on the computer. Yay me. Little did I know I was providing future hours of entertainment for myself. And now I’m sharing with you :)

Since I’ve switched phones and systems, oh - about 4 times since then, I don’t have these photos on my phone. I’m glad I have these but man…. glad I’ve invested hours upon hundreds of hours of training, education, and experience in my craft since then.

WOW! Check out the cool sun flare, lol! Flare like this is only available with a kit lens.

I think I took this for a project 52 photo challenge. The subject was Negative Space and I remember being really proud of this photo. I’d do it completely different now, but this made me feel good when I took it.

Oh those Instagram filters! This looks like the butcher block counters in the Little Blue House in Colorado. I think these apricots were from our tree. I was a food photographer way back when….

I remember being proud of this photo too. I still like it. Even the IG filter is ok…. lol

I have no idea what challenge this was for, but I’m sure it was a project 52.

This photo got sooooo many comments, I remember being really surprised. I knew nothing about hash-tagging back then. Thank God!

This was for a photo challenge too, I think the prompt was a ‘photo of something cold - me!’ Wish I was as ‘fat’ as I thought I was then, lol. But, for realz!

I don’t know if I can take anymore of this. Memory Lane games can be fun, but sometimes they bring a lesson in humility. Ya know what I mean?
