Free Mini-Workshop - Photography Resources

Hope you’re all still hanging in there. Just think, we’re one day closer to being freed of quarantine-ing / sheltering-at- home/ practicing social distancing. WooHoo!

As I stated in my post the other day, so many artists and businesses in the photography community are sharing resources, such as educational / free product / tutorials, etc. I want to share these with you in hopes of you finding time (during the #pandemic2020) to learn something new, to challenge yourself, to inspire you to create. Everyone has a cell phone, if not a camera body. Everyone’s a photographer of some level. So learn a little bit. Challenge yourself. Go ahead - you can do it!

Today’s feature is from a totally, creatively-inspiring company called 2 Lil’ Owls Studios.

2 Lil’ Owls Studio gives you the creative tools and workshops you need to push your art and photography further. Let me just say, if you aren’t inspired by looking at her workshops, projects, blog posts, and products, you may want to check your pulse. Really. Many of my macro and flatlays have been inspired by 2 Lil’ Owls.

2 Lil’ Owls is sharing a free mini-workshop with us.

Here’s the link for the workshop on creating a backdrop. Some of us have some of these supplies on hand, some of us don’t. If you fall in the latter category, don’t fret! Save the workshop page to your Favorites. Write down some notes and hold onto them. Find another fabric laying around the house and put it to use.

Some of you may say …. I’m just a hobbyist, why would I need that? Or …. I just like to use my I-phone for snapshots, so I don’t need one. Ok - so here’s why! Backdrops add personality and style to your photos. Whether you like to photograph products or people, having a good backdrop is essential to your work. A busy backdrop for a multi-colored product or outfit would not work well together.

I challenge you to make this backdrop! And if you don’t have a large piece of canvas, find something smaller!

I’m going to make one, and I hope you do too. I’d love to hear how much fun you’re having, so leave a comment for me! And feel free to share this post with your photography or artist buddies!
